DAP should join Barisan Nasional to represent the Malaysian Chinese

DAP joining Barinsan Nasional!
This sounds like a good idea.

MCA and Gerakan had both declined to take up posts in the Cabinet. No Ministers, no deputy ministers, no political secretaries of Chinese etnic.

DAP had many times said that M...CA and Gerakan are no longer relevant as repesentative voice of the Malaysian Chinese. 80% of Malaysian Chinese have voted for DAP or its alliance partners. Well, DAP can join the BN to represent the Malaysian Chinese.

DAP could pick up the Cabinet posts.  If any issue/problem related to Malaysian Chinese arises, DAP as a BN component party, could voice up on our behalf.  After all, MCA decides to "shut up" and "remain silent" for the next 5 years. Same with Gerakan.

DAP, go join Barisan Nasional!!

DAP UBAH Lah....Masuklah Barisan Nasional. Jadilah Menteri. Jadilah Suara untuk Malaysian Chinese!

Gerakan is doing Right and Reasonably. MCA is doing Wrong and Irresponsibly.

In TV news, TS Koh Tsu Kun explained that Gerakan would not be taking up government posts in the Cabinet, but Gerakan members will continue to serve as Ahli Majlis, etc.  This is reasonable.

But MCA DS Dr Chua Soi Lek, on the contrary, appears to be irresponsible by getting all MCA members NOT to take any government posts including Cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, political secretaries, Ahli Majlis, Ketua Kampung, JKKK and Ahli Pelawat HospitalThis is overdoing and irresponsible act!!  How can MCA stop serving the interests of Malaysian Chinese?

I hope that MCA members can ponder upon this issue.

In the press conference, Dr Chua mentioned that “not accepting any government post” was a resolution made during MCA AGM 2011 and 2012, and not a decision by himself or Liow.  Going back to history, it was Dr Chua who first talked about “not accepting any government post” if MCA’s performance in 13GE is poorer than 12GE.  It was Dr Chua who influenced the Presidential Council, and Central Committee to agree with him on this policy matter.  Needless to say, all these Central Committee (Leaders) echo back the similar message to the respective Central Delegates in all Divisions.  Of course during AGM, the Central Delegates being obedient leaders themselves agreed and voted in this resolution.

MCA Leadership of National/Central, State and Division levels must seriously reconsider this policy of “not accepting any government post”.  Not accepting post in Cabinet will be fine.  Not accepting any post in Majlis, JKKK and Lembaga Pelawat Hospital is definitely Overdoing and Irresponsible.

MCA Must Continue to Represent the Malaysian Chinese

Gerakan, although its majority members are Chinese, is a Multi-Racial party.  On the other hand, MCA is a party entirely for the Malaysian Chinese.  Even its name is Malaysian Chinese Association.

Even though 80% of Malaysian Chinese may have voted PR/DAP, MCA cannot forget its mission to represent the voice of the Malaysian Chinese.  How can MCA members distant themselves from serving the Malaysian Chinese?  How can MCA just simply put a Full Stop to represesnt the interests of the Malaysian Chinese?
How can MCA just disregard the future of Chinese education for our yonng children? How can MCA just stop to talk on behalf of the Malaysian Chinese businesses? How can MCA just stop defending the Malaysian Chinese when a certain new Government policy is detrimental to the Malaysian Chinese?

For instance, Ketua Kampung of a Chinese New Village.  If MCA member declines to be Head of a Chinese New Village, so how?  Ask the Malay to be Village Head?  Or ask the DAP member to be Village Head?  MCA cannot just stop serving the Chinese community at the hundreds of Chinese New Villages all accross the country.

Another example, JKKKP or Jawatankuasa Kemajuan & Keselamatan Kampung.  Are MCA members going to stop to be involved in JKKKP?  Because MCA is not successfully voted in, should MCA stop caring for the development and security of Chinese New Villages?  JKKKP often play the role of identifying roads to be repairs, street lights to be installed, drainage problems to be resolved, and 101 other isssues/problems in Chinese New Village.  Is MCA going to "forget and forsake" the Chinese New Villages?

Third example, District Councillor (Ahli Majlis Daerah) and Municipal Councillor (Ahli Majlis Perbandaran).  These MCA members serving as Councillors in the respective Local Goverment (Majlis Daerah or Majlis Perbandaran) often voice issues and problems in their respective District/Town to the respective Officers in the Majlis Daerah/Perbandaran.  Are we going to "forget and forsake" the citizen of respective Districts/Towns?  Forget whatever problems/issues faced by the citizens?  Just DON'T CARE??

Last but not least, Goverment hospitals normally have a panel of "Ahli Pelawat" representing the community served by the respective hospitals.  Malaysian Chinese do get sick and get treatments from Government hospital.  Not every Malaysian Chinese is so rich as to go to expensive, private hospitals.  Are MCA members going to stop getting involved in the Panel of Ahli Pelawat for all the Government hospitals?  Are MCA members going to Stop Caring?

If the Son is disloyal to the Father, the Father will Still LOVE the Son, no matter what.
Even if 80% of Malaysian Chinese do not Love MCA, MCA must Still LOVE all the Malaysian Chinese, and continue to represent the interests of all Malaysian Chinese.

In the Parliament Lower House (Dewan Rakyat), there are now only SEVEN MCA MPs out of the total 222 MPs.  Our Voice is alreading getting Extremely Small.  MCA's representation in Dewan Rakyat is now only 3.5%, the lowest in the history!!

Is MCA going to play DUMB MUTE for the next 5 years?  Is MCA going to punish ALL the Malaysian Chinese (because 80% of Malaysian Chinese did not vote for MCA)?

Again I say,
MCA Cannot Stop To Represent the Interests of Malaysian Chinese!MCA Cannot Stop Loving and Caring for Malaysian Chinese!

If MCA really wants to stop representing the Malaysian Chinese, then it needs to change name.  No longer should it be named MALAYSIAN CHINESE Association.

P/S:  Just now, my hubby asked: Blogging again ah?  Hubby is in Gerakan being Penangite, I am in MCA.

MCA should "Think Outside the Box"

Year in, year out....MCA Leadership do things the same, old manner. Campaigning by going to pasar, holding talks, putting free dinners. A bunch of old dogs doing the same old tricks.

MCA needs to Transform, Reform, Reengineer....
We need a brand NEW MCA.

An MCA that could reach out to the young and middle-aged generation.  Young and middle-aged generation are generally well-educated, either trilingual or bilingual, computer literate, internet savvy, exposed to all kinds of infomation through various media (conventional or new media).

MCA needs a New-Style Think Tank.
I have checked INSAP, the so-called Think Tank of MCA.  Most of the people I see listed there are green horns, fresh from the Univ.  I think they can be good speech writers, but definitely NOT, the strategists.

Example of people who qualify to be in Think Tank could be:
1) People with good and plenty of creative ideas,
2) People who do not seek "Leadership" post or other benefits from the Party,
3) People with mature and strategic thinking,
4) People with high intelligence.

Often times, people with high intelligence, abundance of ideas and strategic thinking are NOT interested in politics, NOT interested to hold positions in Division level, State level or Central Committee.
There are many Bloggers that would fit in well into this Reformation/Transformation Think Tank.
I suddenly think of a Blogger: TiLianKer.  I think this Pahang guy should be one of those in the Think Tank.

People in the Think Tank should and must THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.
People in Think Tank do Not necessarily need to meet up at MCA HQ at KL.  They can communicate via WhatsApp, YahooMessenger, FacebookMessenger, WeChat, or any other relevant media.
I may be in Penang, but I send messages to TiLianKer in Pahang, MCA-HQ in KL, and other Leaders in all sorts of Locations.  Actually, I don't even where they are whenever I message them.

(Note: I was once a Bureau Chief at Division, so got to meet many State-level and Central-level Leaders too.  But I did not ask the Division Chief for the post.)

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!!

Anwar Ibrahim has done that.  He had brought together a Marriage-of-Convenience among PKR, PAS and DAP.  PAS and DAP cannot see eye to eye, yet Anwar can mitigate.  Anwar CAN think outside the box.
Anwar was as racist as any UMNO Leader.  Remember, he was number 2 at UMNO, and Deputy Prime Minister.  He used to pressure us Chinese. Yet, in his pursuit to overturn the BN Government, he could turnarount from racist-thinking to multi-racial-thinking.

MCA MUST CHANGE!!
I know it is Difficult, almost Impossible.  But this is a matter of survival.

This Saturday, the Presidential Council meets and will decide on the next course of actions.  But is the Presidential Council fair and unbiased?
I don't know.  I guess many MCA Leaders are now busy contacting some of the Top Leaders to influence the Presidential Council direction and decision.
How many members of Presidential Council are the President's men?  How many will echo the direction and decision of President?
As the President stated his intention of not seeking re-election as President, would some of the Presidential Council members start turning to other prospective future President?  (In politics, there is NO permanent friend, NO permanent enemy.)

I hope the Presidential Council make several Decision which include:
1)  Continue serving and representing the Malaysian Chinese.
2)  Minimise turbulence at the forthcoming Party Elections.
3)  UBAH / CHANGE the MCA!!  (MCA needs a Radical Change.  Call it Reformation, or Transformation, or Reengineering, or Revival.)
4)  Establish an internet-based Think Tank to collect ideas on what and how to change.
5)  Do a Survey to determine what the Malaysian Chinese want from MCA.
6)  Do a Survey among all members on what MCA Members want from MCA.

The above are my wishlist.

MCA must stand Steadfast & not be shaken by Tsunami nor Tornado

After the Urban Tsunami on 505 (13GE on May 5, 2013), some MCA Leaders (at national, state, and division levels) are using this Golden Opportunity to attack certain Specific Leader(s), e.g. MCA President, MCA State Chiefs.  These opportunistic Leaders are trying to create a Tornado, after the Tsunami.

These Leaders are extremely Selfish and Self-Centred.  They don't think about the survival of our beloved Party, or the role of Party representing Malaysian Chinese.  They are thinking of the forthcoming Party Elections, securing certain Leadership positions.  Playing the Power Struggle Game.

I think it is good deed for the 22 Division Chiefs to ask MCA State Chief, Donald Lim, to withdraw his resignation.  It is NOT Donald Lim's fault that MCA lost ALL SEATS in Selangor, a record-breaking event.  Donald Lim does not need to resign.  May be he will suffer the same fate as Ch'ng Toh Eng, i.e. not being appointed the State Chief for the following Party Election period.
At 308 (13GE on March 8, 2013), Ch'ng had made many enemies too.  For 505, Donald made even more enemies when many Division Chiefs did not get to become Candidate, or their preferred team did not become Candidates. Donald has more enemies than everybody thinks. Actually, the Division Chiefs were just putting up a "show" to the Media;  many Division Chiefs want to boot out Donald Lim.
This is politics...very complicated.

My dear Comrades,
I am happy to see the Press Statement by MCA Sec-Gen to call for calm and let the Presidential Council deliberate and decide on the next course of actions.
We need to be COOL and CALM.

MCA's Defeat is already so humiliating.
If MCA goes into Total Chaos, we will move from Humiliating to Shameful.
We must stand UNITED in this Difficult, Challenging Time.

All Central, State and Division Leaders should just stay STILL.  Wait and see what decision comes out from the Presidential Council.

I personally think that The Following are STUPID ACTIONS by Irresponsible MCA Leaders:
1)  Resignation to take the blame for Election Loss.
2)  Closing of MCA Service Centres immediately.  If the Malaysian Chinese don't love MCA, MCA must still love the Malaysian Chinese.
3)  Resignation of Ahli Majlis, Ahli Pelawat Hospital, Ketua Kampung, Ahli JKKKP.

WHY?  WE CANNOT STOP SERVING THE PEOPLE.
MCA CANNOT just put a Full Stop to serving and representing the Malaysian Chinese!!

Even if MCA lose every single Seat, MCA must still Survive and Persist.
If the Son betrays the Father, the Father will Still Always love the Son, no matter what.

Press statement by MCA Secretary General Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha
———————————————————————————————–
MCA Presidential Council meeting to convene soon – Members urged to keep calm & stand united
In view of the post-election situation at this stage, I urge all MCA members to keep claim and stand united as we wade through this difficult period.
MCA will convene a Presidential Council meeting this Saturday, 11 May 2013 to deliberate in-depth on the election results. Meanwhile, I urge all MCA members to remain stoic, persevere and await the decision of the MCA central leadership.
I believe that party members should not use the election results to launch attacks on individual leaders as this will further damage the party’s image and standing.
I would like to remind MCA members that during these challenging times, MCA should avoid internal conflict lest the Opposition uses the occasion to manufacture issues to further attack MCA.
Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha

Should MCA remain in BN? or leave BN?

PM Najib did not have the guts to admit the reality:
More urban Malays voted the Pakatan Rakyat irrespective of party (PKR, PAS or DAP) and Candidate ethnicity.

The ball game has changed. Younger voters are better educated and more mature. Younger voters are shying away from Racial-based Politics.

Younger votes are by big majority, middle-class employees.  Monthly income is just enough for monthly expenditures, may be not so enough.  Younger voters are easily influenced by friends and peers, rather than public figures.

UNDERSTAND THE REALITY!
Rules of the Game has changed.

UMNO is now desperate. Certain quarters within UMNO is courting PAS to join BN.
UMNO knows that 14GE may be even tougher if the Rural Malays swing to PR because the children (urban Malays) would be influencing their parents (rural Malays).

MCA also need to do soul-searching. Remain in BN?  or do something outrageous? E.g. leave the BN coalition?
If MCA doesn't want to join the Cabinet, why remain in BN?  Just leave BN, and become another opposition party.

MCA is losing its RELEVANCE to the Younger Generation.  Ask the Younger Generation about what they want from Malaysian Chinese pary.  Social media now dominates the interration style.  But MCA is way, way behind in the aspect of social media.

MCA needs BPR (Business Process Re-Engineering)!!  MCA needs Reformation and Transformation!  MCA needs to be remodelled.  MCA needs REVIVAL!

This is a DO-or-DIE Scenario.
This is a REVIVE or Vanish situation.

GE13: Najib: Chinese taken for a ‘good ride’
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2013/5/8/nation/13080863&sec=nation&utm_source=TSOL_main&utm_medium=links&utm_campaign=GE13

Extract from article in The Star:
Najib also disagreed that Barisan's election setback was due to a rural-urban divide in the voting pattern and stressed that the support for the ruling coalition in some urban areas, with large numbers of Malay voters, had increased compared with 2008.

All-out battle within MCA is brewing...

Cronology of Events:
Fri, April 11, 2013 - Unofficial list of BN-MCA Candidates was known.  Division Chiefs and imcumbent YBs who were not happy with the List started some action.  Some went to the papers to voice directly and indirectly to the President.  I suppose that was a last-minute appeal to President CSL to reconsider the Candidates list.

Mon, April 15, 2013 - PM Najib awarded the Surat Watikah to the Candidates via the Heads of BN Component Parties and through State BN Heads.

As a result of the confirmation of Candidates, the unhappy Division Chiefs and incumbent YBs became very dissatisfied.  Some Pegawai Penyelaras who did not become Candidates also felt devastated, having spent the last few years being very active in the respective Constituencies.
As all know, some went to the extent of going to the Media (Press, Alternate Media, TV) to express discontent over the appointed Candidates.

From the date of Surat Watikah till Nomination Day, I have heard my MCA friends from various states talking about who (which Division) is collaborating, and planning to launch an "attack" on President CSL during forthcoming Party Elections.  I suppose this was mainly due to dissatisfaction over who was chosen to be Candidate.

All kinds of stories and guesses were made over Why This Leader was not chosen as Candidate, Why Another Lesser Leader was chosen as Condidate.  Truth was really not known.  Stories of Lesser Leaders lobbying with BN-UMNO hence bypassing MCA President were also heard.

Sat, April 20, 2013 - Nomination Day.  Unfavored Candidates were rather obvious.  Majority of the Division members were not there at the Nomination Day if the Candidates were not in the Division's favour.
You see.... this signals a split within MCA.  MCA members are not always supporting MCA Candidate.  (The sickness of "the Candidate is not from our Team, so we don't care.")

A few days before the Election Day, 2 crucial events took place.
1)  Rumours about 40k Bangladeshis being flown in to vote as Phantom Voters.
2)  Lee Chee Leong bought a Lamborghini.  Although LCL denied the allegation, the harm was made worse with him threatening to sue the Person Who Alleged This and the issue became hotter and more popular.  When I talked to a Perak MCA guy who knows LCL personally, he was not surprised if LCL bought a Lamborghini.  Even Ong Ka Chuan owns a Ferrari, having net wealth of over RM500 million (estimated). LCL and his siblings are very rich, due to the inheritance left by their late father.
The TRUTH was never known.  But the Chinese all over the country decided to punish BN-MCA, BN-Gerakan and BN-SUPP.

Sun, May 5, 2013 - the D-Day i.e. Election Day.
Results were out.  DAP had outrageous Success. On the other hand, Chinese-dominated Component Parties, i.e. MCA, Gerakan, and SUPP, suffered tremendous Defeat.

Mon, May 6, 2013 - wee hours in the morning.
President CSL announced that MCA would not be accepting Government posts...I think, this means not accepting any Cabinet positions (Minister, Deputy Minister, Political Secretary).

Mon, May 6, 2013 - late morning/noon.
President CSL announced that he would NOT be seeking re-election as President in the forthcoming MCA party election.
(Mr President, you want to wash hand after Defeat?  Just like former President Ong Ka Ting?)

Mon, May 6, 2013 - noon.
MCA Youth (was it Central or a certain Division?) had a Press Conference to ask President CSL to quit.
(Question: Who was behind this?  Who would benefit from CSL's resignation?  Without doubt, all the MPs from MCA who have chance to become Minister, Deputy Minister, and Political Secretary.  Without doubt, I think, those who are vying to replace CSL as President.)

Mon, May 6, 2013 - evening.
In TV news and online newspapers, CSL's announcement about not seeking re-election as President was out.  Has CSL bowed to the pressure from other MCA Top Leaders?  Is CSL going to be the Scapegoat?  Just like OKT?

Recalling MCA's defeat at 308 (12GE on March 8, 2008)... MCA President Ong Ka Ting left the President's post to take the blame for MCA's poor performance for 12GE.
Ong Tee Keat took over as President.  He "installed" his own people in the CC and supported his own people within the respective Divisions.  Dissatisfaction was brewing.
After that, MCA was thrown into turbulence.  Several major factions were formed:  Ong Tee Keat, Ong brothers (OKT, OKC), Chua Soi Lek, Liow Tiong Lai, Wee Ka Siong, Kong Cho Ha, Donald Lim, etc. Some of these factions merged for greater strength.
During the Central Party Election, 3 Candidates vied for President post:  Ong Tee Keat, Ong Ka Ting, and Chua Soi Lek.  Chua Soi Lek won the Presidency.
As for the Central Committee posts, the winners were mainly CSL's people, followed by several OTK's people.  Seemingly, CSL faction and OTK faction had a secret pact to support each other's CC candidates.

After the pary election was over, almost all Division Chiefs (who were earlier aligned to OKT faction or Ong Brothers faction) had gradually re-aligned to CSL.  CSL was also gracious to tolerate and accept Leaders from the other 2 factions.  Peace and Harmony slowly creeped in.

FAST FORWARD TO NOW...

May 6 and May 7, many Division Chiefs were having Lunch/Dinner/Meetings with their key Committee members on the "next course of actions."
Preparing for the next series of Battle?
An ALL-OUT BATTLE at all Levels (Branch, Division, State, Central)?

My dear MCA Leaders and MCA Comrades,
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Haven't we seen enough blood (Defeat)?  Is this haemorrhage (13GE Defeat) already humiliating?  Do we need another round of Party Turbulence (dang zhen)?

To all aspiring MCA President candidates:
Please stop your Ambition for the moment. Please help to stabilise MCA, and find the new role of MCA within our Malaysian Chinese community.

To all MCA Division Chiefs:
Let Bygones Be Bygones.  Let us work in Unity and Harmony.  Let us bring back our beloved Party of half century heritage to BE GLORIOUS again. (Fa yang guang da ...again.)

To all the Oldguards:
Please do not seek to be Division Chief and other important positions within the Division.  Some of you are in your 60s and 70s.  Let the younger ones take over LAH...

Sorry, I "talked" too much this morning.
Again I appeal to all MCA Leaders:
PRESERVE THE UNITY AND HARMONY WITHIN MCA, OUR BELOVED PARTY.

Remarks:
I remember during Ling Liong Sik's era as President, many choose to discuss and negotiate on Party Leadership positions at Central, State, Division levels.
Can we adopt this again:  DISCUSS and NEGOTIATE the Party Leadership posts, instead of an all-out democratic Party Elections at all Levels.

UNITY and HARMONY !!!  Please....
